Here is the recipe you are looking for.

Sugar Cookies

Blend Together: 1/2 cup shortening

1 cup sugar

Beat in: 1 egg
2 tablespoons milk

Stir in: 2 cups sifted Gold Medal flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Heat oven to 400 degree F. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on lightly greased baking sheet. Grease bottom of a glass. Dip glass in sugar and flatten each cooky. Sprinkle cookies with nutmeg. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, until light golden. Cool on rack.
