This sounds like it may be Impossibly Easy Pie, so I think this might be the recipe you are referring to.

Impossibly Easy Cherry Custard Pie
Prep Time: 10 Min
Bake: 30 Min
1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
3/4 cup Bisquick® Original baking mix
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons margarine, butter or spread,* softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1. 1. Heat oven to 400º. Grease 9-inch pie plate. Drain pie filling, reserving liquid.
2. 2. Stir all ingredients except cherries and reserved liquid until blended. Pour into pie plate. Spoon cherries evenly over top.**
3. 3. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes before cutting. Serve with warm reserved cherry liquid and, if desired, sweetened whipped cream. Refrigerate any remaining pie.
6 to 8 servings
