The Slow Cooker Mashed Potato recipe uses 1/2 cup sour cream. If you would prefer not to use it, you can use 1/2 cup of plain yogurt in place of the sour cream. The sour cream or yogurt will add a sharpness to the potatoes, if you would prefer not to have that flavor, you can leave out the sour cream all together.
