I am attaching one of our sauce recipes only to give an example. They do include the sausage but you will have to skim and discard fat.
Bolognese Sauce with Spaghetti
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Start to Finish: 6 Hours 15 Minutes
6 Italian sausage links (about 1 1/2 lb), cut into 1-inch pieces
1 cup finely chopped onions (1 large)
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes, undrained
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 can (12 oz) tomato paste
12 oz uncooked spaghetti
1. In 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker, mix all ingredients except spaghetti.
2. Cover; cook on Low heat setting 6 to 8 hours. Skim and discard fat, if desired.
3. About 30 minutes before serving, cook spaghetti to desired doneness as directed on package. Serve sauce over spaghetti.
