Yes you could make them in the oven or on the stove top. Unfortuneately there is not a quick conversion that I can give you because it depends on the type of recipe. Most slow cooker recipes were developed from a conventional recipe. Soups and stews can be done on the stovetop and will not need the long cooking time that is asked for in a slow cooker. Cooking large cuts of meat can be done in the oven.
