Can I substitute buttermilk in the Bisquick waffle recipe?

Isn’t baking with buttermilk wonderful! It is so rich but can be a bit tricky since it is more acidic than regular milk. It also has a lot more fat than the skim milk many of have in our fridges. I would recommend adding one teaspoon of baking soda with the Bisquick mix when you stir up the waffle batter. That should take care of the extra acid. You may like to know that buttermilk freezes really well. Just freeze it in quantities you will use later or use an ice cube tray. If you have lots of buttermilk, you might like to try some more of Betty's recipes.
