When making the sauce for the pound cake, you could substitute sliced fresh strawberries for the blueberries. But because strawberries are often sweeter than blueberries, you may not need 1/2 cup sugar. Taste your strawberries first and if they are nice, ripe and sweet, you might want to reduce the sugar to 1/3 cup. If the strawberries aren't too sweet or ripe, then use the full 1/2 cup of sugar.
